2026 Suzuki Fronx Price ! Is Worthy buying it here is the review

I walked into the Suzuki NEXA Experience Centre in Attapur, Hyderabad this morning not expecting much. I walked out completely rethinking everything I thought I knew about compact SUVs under ₹12 lakh.

I’ve test driven a fair share of cars in this segment — the Nexon, Venue, Sonet — but nothing quite prepared me for the 2026 Suzuki Fronx in Midnight Black. There’s something about this car in black that hits differently. It looked aggressive sitting on that showroom floor, almost like it was daring me to take it out on the road.

So I did. And here’s everything that happened.

👀 First Look — The Black Variant Is a Different Beast Entirely

Let me be honest — I’ve seen the Fronx in white, red, and silver before. It’s a good-looking car in any colour. But in Midnight Black? It’s a completely different character.

The moment I spotted it at the NEXA centre in Attapur, I stopped walking. The muscular coupe-SUV silhouette, the sharp LED headlamps with those split DRLs running across the front, the bold squared-off grille — all of it looks 10x more dramatic in black. The double fender lines running from front to rear look like they were carved with a knife. This thing genuinely looks like it belongs in a segment costing twice as much.

The 190mm ground clearance gives it that commanding SUV stance, and those 195/60 R16 wheels fill the arches nicely. Standing next to it in the showroom, I could see multiple people walking past slowing down to take a second look. That’s always a good sign.

🪑 Step Inside — It Doesn’t Feel Like a Car Under ₹12 Lakh

The NEXA experience executive handed me the key and I opened the door. First impression of the interior — it’s sharp, it’s functional, and in this black variant, the red and black dual-tone cabin looks genuinely premium. The contrast stitching, the matte silver accents — Maruti Suzuki has clearly put thought into making this feel upmarket.

The 9-inch floating touchscreen sits clean and high on the dashboard — easy to see, easy to reach. I quickly connected my phone via wireless Android Auto (no cable needed, love it) and it connected instantly. The screen response was snappy, no lag whatsoever.

What genuinely impressed me though was the Heads-Up Display (HUD). I didn’t expect to see this at this price point. Having your speed and navigation projected right in your line of sight while driving is a feature I associate with cars costing ₹20–25 lakh. Seeing it here was a genuine surprise.

Other things I noticed: wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, 360-degree surround view camera — all present and working perfectly. The only thing I’d complain about? The interior plastics on the lower parts of the door panel feel a little cheap when you tap them. A small niggle, but worth mentioning.

🛣️ The Test Drive — Attapur Roads Put It Through Its Paces

If you know Attapur in Hyderabad, you know it’s not exactly a smooth racetrack. We have a mix of everything — patchy roads, speed bumps, narrow lanes, sudden potholes, and then stretches of fairly open road. It’s actually a perfect real-world test for any car, and the Fronx handled it confidently.

I drove the 1.0L BoosterJet turbo petrol variant — the one with 100 PS and 148 Nm of torque. Now let me be real with you: below 2,500 rpm, the turbo hasn’t fully woken up yet, and the car can feel a little lazy. But once you cross that threshold, this thing genuinely surges. The mid-range pull from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm is strong, linear, and seriously satisfying — especially when you’re overtaking on a busy stretch.

I hit a nasty pothole near the Attapur main road — the kind that makes your stomach drop. The Fronx absorbed it without drama. The suspension is well-tuned for Indian conditions — it’s not rock-hard like some sporty competitors, but it’s not floaty either. You feel planted and in control, whether you’re crawling through traffic or opening it up on the straights.

The steering feel was another highlight. Light enough for city driving but with enough weight at higher speeds that you don’t feel like you’re driving a toy. Cornering felt precise. I took a sharp turn near Attapur circle a little aggressively (the NEXA executive next to me will confirm this), and the car held its line better than I expected.

NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels were impressive. At city speeds, the cabin stays quiet. At higher speeds there’s a little wind noise creeping in around the A-pillars, but nothing that ruins the experience.

🛡️ Safety — 6 Airbags as Standard? Yes, Really.

This is where the 2026 Fronx earns serious respect. Maruti Suzuki has made 6 airbags standard across all variants of the Fronx — dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags for front and rear passengers. That’s something many cars in this segment still don’t offer as standard.

You also get Hill Hold Control — I tested this on a small incline near the dealership. The car holds itself for up to 2 seconds after you release the brake, giving you time to move your foot to the accelerator without rolling back. Works flawlessly. The 360-degree camera also made reversing into a tight spot near the showroom parking absolutely stress-free.

✅ What I Loved & ❌ What I Didn’t

✅ LOVED IT

  • Black variant looks absolutely stunning
  • Turbo engine mid-range punch is genuinely exciting
  • HUD at this price point is unbelievable value
  • Wireless Android Auto + wireless charging
  • 6 airbags standard — safety sorted
  • 190mm ground clearance handles Indian roads easily
  • 360-degree camera makes parking effortless
  • Suspension perfectly tuned for Hyderabad roads

❌ DIDN’T LOVE

  • Turbo lag below 2,500 rpm is noticeable
  • Lower door panel plastics feel cheap
  • Boot space at 308L is smallest in segment
  • Rear headroom could be tight for taller passengers
  • A-pillar wind noise at highway speeds

🏁 My Verdict — Should You Buy the Suzuki Fronx 2026?

Here’s my honest take after spending the morning driving it around Attapur: the 2026 Suzuki Fronx in Black is one of the most complete packages you can buy in India right now under ₹12 lakh.

The design stands out. The turbo engine delivers genuine thrills when you push it. The feature list — HUD, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags — punches well above the price tag. And Maruti Suzuki’s reliability reputation means you’re not going to be spending your weekends at a service centre.

Yes, there are some cost-cutting areas inside if you look hard enough. And yes, the boot space isn’t going to win any awards. But in the grand scheme of things, when I walked out of that NEXA showroom in Attapur and looked back at that Midnight Black Fronx sitting there under the lights — I completely understood the hype.

This is a beast. And Suzuki knows it.
